Reflection on Writing Class

Writing Reflection

                My interest in learning English is when I was young, I feel happy when I learning English at classroom. I know English since my first year at Elementary School and I still remember the teacher’s name. He is Mr. Andre, he was so funny and humble in person. But, when we (me and my friends) at our third year of Elementary School, my other friends (most of them are boys) were so naughty and they like to make Mr. Andre angry so by the time, Mr. Andre became a temperamental. The next year, the teacher changes, his name is Mr. Ari. He was so young and a good teacher too. I still remember there was a study program called Study with Native Speaker. I was chosen to be a participant from my school. The program took place at Junior High School 6 Pangkalpinang.

                When I attended the program, I got a lots of new friend from another school. At the program, we learned about speaking, listening, writing and the other skill. So, because of this program, I really like to learn English. My interests to learn about writing skill is to know how to write sentence or paragraph with good grammar and structure, how to write some things like e-mail, postcard, blog, script, etc. Writing is really important just like the other skills.

                The project I like the most is writing a diary, send a postcard, and Grammar Nazi. The reason why I like the diary project is because I like to write a diary before. So, when the project come, I just have to translate the diary and post it to my blog.

                The reason why I like the postcard project because I sent it to my friend who have studying at Taiwan. His name is Bobby, I told him that I’m okay. Because, when I moved to Yogyakarta, I called him on phone and told him that I’m afraid to move to Yogyakarta. He told me that I don’t have to afraid, he told me he scared too at his first year, but he went it easy because he stay calm and positive thinking.

                The reason why I like the Grammar Nazi project is because I like to laugh at their grammar error, oh, I know that I’m evil. Haha. But, most of the error because of their typo or they don’t know how to write wit good grammar. I often do grammatical error too. Maybe at this reflection I have a lots of grammatical error too. But, I will study hard how to write with a good grammar and structure.

                The challenge while doing the diary project is I often confused to choose the right tense. Until now, when I write this reflection, I still confuse what tense I have to use. The other challenge is to make sure that my friends from my school didn’t read the diary. I’m shy that my friend like to make fun of me because that diary.

                The challenge while doing the postcard project is I’m afraid that the postcard doesn’t arrive at the right place. But, Bobby confirmed that he received my postcard. I’m really thankful that the postcard didn’t received by wrong person.

                The challenge while doing the Grammar Nazi project is I have difficulty to find the sample of the grammatical error. Most of the sample that I found, they were typo. I have difficulty to identify the mistake. It’s because I’m not really good at grammar, so I’m really confuse and I have to ask my friends to help me identify the mistake.

                The lecturer, Ms. Devi, she was a humble and funny person! I really enjoy the class because she is kind, and interactive. Although the task from her was challenging, we know it’s for improving our skills at writing. She gave us the example how to deal with our task too.

                What I like from the class is we are pushed to be creative in our way. We use blog when at this technology, blog was rarely used to be instructional media. Blog is easier to do instead of vlog. We have to feed backing our friend’s blogpost too.

                 My impression doing Project Based Learning is I receive a lots of knowledge how to make postcard. Blogpost, review, diary, etc. because I know that I wouldn’t do that kind of things if I don’t have a purpose. I don’t do this by force, it’s pure by heart. I glad to study using Project Based Learning.

                The next thing that I would do is continuing the blogpost, because my friend had known and said the blogpost is exciting. I really like it, hahaha. For the next semester, I hope I can handle the task or the project. I hope the lecturer is Ms. Devi again, because I really enjoy learning English with her. Ms. Devi for 2 periods! Thank you!
